The article for today is: Attachment Through the Life Course https://nobaproject.com/textbooks/introduction-to-psychology-the-full-noba-collection/modules/attachment-through-the-life-course

This article briefly reviews attachment theory on individual differences in infancy and childhood and the role of attachment in adult relationship. Over the course of evolutionary history, infants who are able to maintain proximity to an attachment figure would be more likely to survive to reproductive age.

The attachment behavioral system is like a thermostat that continuously monitors ambient temperature of a room, comparing that temperature against a desired state and adjusting behavior accordingly.

To investigate individual differences in infant attachment, Ainsworth developed a strange situation that is profound from three aspects: 1) the first empirical demonstration of attachment behavior. 2) Concepts of attachment patterns. 3) The first experiment about infant-parent interactions in the home during the first year of life.

Although there is some research shows that positive and secure attachment patterns result in positive relationship functioning outcomes, the author reminds readers that the correlation is probabilistic, not deterministic. Security is best viewed as a culmination of a person’s attachment history rather than a reflection of his or her early experiences alone.

Almost all of the wording in the content is the same as the article. I am trying to imitate the structure of sentences, but it still takes a long time for me. Hope this can be improved really soon.
